This is one of a set of 4 female character portraits that I was commissioned to paint for internal illustrations in the new Forgotten Realms Players Handbook for 4th edition Dungeons and Dragon (out this month)

This one is of magic user hovering in the air with a small dragon familiar perched on her arm. The picture is designed so that the text fits around it on the white of the page.

As any who watch me will know, I'm pretty fond of dragons

so this was a cool subject to get to paint.

If I did not know any better..I'd safely assume, magic user or not, that this was a Kender. HOWEVER, I am not sure Kender exist in DnD. I THINK they do, but yeah lol
