I actually painted this a while ago but dragons seem to go down pretty well here so I thought I'd post it
This dragon was commissioned by Wizards of the Coast as an internal illustartion for one of their Dungeons and Dragons rule books, and depicts a new type of Incarnum dragon (Incarnum is a kind of blue/purple crystal magic).
Sketched in pencil and coloured digitally in Photoshop.
Fantastic work. The colour really suits is and of course its of a really high quailty which always help me liking art. You're right, dragons do go down well here
I rally like this one, it looks very different from the 'usual' dragon designs. I espacially love how the wings and tail give only one line. Also love that kinda neck shield, it reminds me of a cobra somehow. And it's so shiny and ice blue i love ice. Even though this seems to be more about water (that's what I would think 'cause of the shape of the feet and the bg).

She's beautiful! What book is she/he/it going to be in?
And do you have any baseline stats yet? Looks like a terror to face for a player, a fun time for a DM (can we tell which I am?)

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
