This picture was commissioned as a wrap around novel cover. Dragons flying over a city was a fun subject to paint 
By tilting the angle of the horizon and zooming in on the dragon and rider I have tried to created the sense of flying. The dragon riders were described as looking similar to Native Americans, hence the feathers and costume.

First I sketched out this picture in pencil and then I coloured a scan in Photoshop.
