This picture was commissioned as a wrap around novel cover. Dragons flying over a city was a fun subject to paint :)
By tilting the angle of the horizon and zooming in on the dragon and rider I have tried to created the sense of flying. The dragon riders were described as looking similar to Native Americans, hence the feathers and costume.

First I sketched out this picture in pencil and then I coloured a scan in Photoshop.

Wow, the perspective (?) looks very dynamic... Over all, its noct really simple to draw a flying dragon...... Good job!

Dragon cooking honest citizens!!! :omg: This is... outrageous!!! Here's what it is!!! One can't steal one or two holy relics from the local temple and here they come and make summary justice!! :shakefist: Oh... well... humanburgers at $2 each!!! Grab them while they're... uh... crisp... :paranoid:

Very cool looking picture - i love the look of those riders and dragons... they're... well... dragons! ;) The smashing wall looks a bit "static" if it makes sense - i think some dust and a bit of movement blur on the rubble would've made them look more active - anyway it's definitely gorgeous! Good work! :D

Fantastic angle and perspective. You really feel as if you were up there flying with them. It gives you a great sense of exhilaration to look at it.
