Artist's Comments

This painting was done in acrylics for a fantsy novel cover. The space left at the top and bottom is for the authors name and book title.

The brief was that the dragon should look old and menacing, guarding the cross symbol.

Daily DeviationCurse of Arastold by *Ironshod is one absolutely beyond brilliant, imaginative, wicked dragon. When I saw this painting I could not help but be awed, and scared, like on a start of the great dangerous adventure or just before the big battle, with a great foe ahead of me. This painting just rocks my world. (Featured by `sbaraci)

Nice job in acrylic. Mr. brush is not a close friend of mine. Great details.

Life is like a clean canvas. We are the artist.
For every stroke and every color we use dictates the output.
It doesn't matter how we render it as long as we can proudly say it is our masterpiece.

Thanks Dragoninadragon. It was done for a novel called The Curse of Arastold. I really like painting dragons.

Mickyoko - thanks. I do a lot of digital art (mainly due to the added speed) but staring at a computer screen isn't nearly as fun as splashing round paint :)

I like the hot atmosphere of this one. I would like to see what the dragon would look like, if the wings would remain thicker at the basis and go down to the tail. Very cool.

Mhhh dead Animal! (that way it sounds more repulsive, and there's a slight chance I get to eat my neighbors plate too :) )

That's great! The stone in the center ties in the background so well.
